Puppy Raising

Without the dedication of our puppy raisers we wouldn't be able to have such wonderful dogs to offer our blind clients.

All successful applicants onto our puppy raising programme will be given training in advance of receiving their puppy. We will and do expect that a puppy raiser will train their puppy with many basic commands as well as socialising and exposing their puppy to all sorts of environments and situations.

A puppy is given to a puppy raiser at approximately 10 weeks of age and will remain with the puppy raiser until the puppy is about 24 months old.

All costs relating to the puppy are met entirely by Pathfinder Dogs. We will cover food costs, vet costs, all costs relating to leads, bowls, toys etc are covered by us as well.

We expect all our puppies to experience life as they will when they are a qualified working guide. A training manual will also be issued and all our puppy raisers have 24/7 support from expert staff.
